I have few questions:

1. Is out target source port ZDoom/GZDoom? What about GZDoom-only features?
2. When can we expect GitHub and Discord links?
3. So we're going to make serious Hexen maps (not Christmas themed) which feature snow and ice in some form? Do I get it right?

1. GZDoom only features are fine. Anything up to 3.6.0, including ZScript, are all okay. But make sure that you know how to integrate it into a GitHub repository if you're going to use non-mapping resources (i.e. textures, zscript, etc). If a new version of GZDoom releases before this does, using the features from the new version is fine, too.

2. We're using the official ZDoom Discord. If you are already there, let me know your name and I'll give you the role. I haven't started the GitHub repo yet because I don't have anything to start it with, yet.

3. Any winter or Christmas theme.

Added rules about software renderer support.

Code: Select all

7. This mapset will be OpenGL focused. If your map works in the software renderer, great, but if not, don't lose any sleep over it.
8. On that note please do *NOT* include any renderer checks which break your map or annoy the user based on the renderer type the user is using - that will result in instant rejection.

By the way, I've extended the deadline on this by a month. It is now January 17, 2019.

The reason why I did this is because the months of November and December were honestly pretty busy. And they were pretty busy for me. A lot of the team here came right off the heels of Spooktober, which took until December to finish. And then there's the SIGIL stuff with John Romero, and as for me personally, I am also trying to help prepare for GZDoom's 3.7.0 release - there were a few features I wanted to get in before the release dropped. (I made adjustments to the scaling code and I also split the menu items for the texture scaler and its amount)

There's also the whole meeting and seeing friends outside of the Doom community, and yeah, I've just been busy. I know I wasn't the only one. So, sorry about that.

I know - you guys don't want to read a page full of excuses. The point is - the deadline is extended. If you wanted to contribute something - you still can!

So you've been in contact with Romero? Then is Sigil for GZDoom or just limit removing ports? E5Mx numbering? MAPINFO or UMAPINFO? Ot just E4 replacement + dehacked? :glomp:
