I was wondering if you (Randy) could add a new arg for translucency, or some other way to make text somewhat translucent, by a variable amount. I ask because graphics displayed on screen, and custom huds (like the ones LilWhiteMouse makes) could benefit.

How about a translucensy value for each pixel color on the image, so we could make some part of them solid and some parts ghost-like?

Yay alpha maps!

I think that'd be quite a cool idea actuallt.

dosent zdoom do that already because of png support?

I'd guess no since they're probably mapped down to the current palette, and into whatever internal format it uses. Though I wonder if the resultant transparency has any bias from the alpha channel.
