Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
ok, so I've done some more tweaks to the chaingunguy deaths that currently exist. the attempt is to make it match the standard deaths for zombiman and shotgunguy to some extent. also included is some "thrown back" frames that include its own dead frame or you can simply use the dead frame from the death above it...
oh yeah, feel free to use. thats what I make them for!

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Been holding onto this for awhile, this is my first attempt at a muzzle flash, credit to iamcarrotmaster for the DOOM Eternal Shotgun sprite, hand is from D4T (Death Foretold).
Any thoughts on what I could improve?
I'm not planning on doing any other weapons, nor do I plan on using iamcarrotmaster's sprites for anything serious, this is just practice for the most part.

Oh, I was hoping for a good sided crossbow for SO long! :')Captain J wrote:Super old Crossbow that actually used for Black Mesa before. Planned to rip this model but forgotten it for a long time... Until now.
Original by some user called .SoJa, as far as the information goes on Gamebanana.com.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Other than being a bit over-softened, the burst doesn't seem to follow the angle of the barrel. Maybe make the edges a bit more yellow & orange. (Although the pale yellow is fine for realism!) The lighting on the gun itself looks pretty good, one of those things you can kind of fake as needed since it's typically only going to be visible for a small fraction of a second.simploo wrote:Any thoughts on what I could improve?

Hand looks different and cartoony, better rip it.simploo wrote:Been holding onto this for awhile, this is my first attempt at a muzzle flash, credit to iamcarrotmaster for the DOOM Eternal Shotgun sprite, hand is from D4T (Death Foretold).

Muzzle has incorrect angle, look on actual muzzle and copy form and colors.
All other seems good.

Maybe it looks like his belly just spews out the guts like spitting a chewing gum?
To make the innards less look like movie prop, connect it to the owner's body!-

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
you know what cap, you're right. but i've re done it again and actually removed a couple of frames in the process too. (it animates better this way)
what say you? better?
as you can see I've filled in some of the negative space with a bit more intestine (as you quite rightly pointed out, connected to the inner body) this negative space was what was making it look "cartoony" also there were too many frames (if that is possible!) making it animate a little awkwardly.what say you? better?

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
thanks bud! its always good to get some feedback on these things.
I had an image in my mind of what I was going for and succeeded precisely but sometimes it helps to have a third party point out (what should be obvious) flaws in the design. it made absolutely no anatomical sense before but now I'm much happier with it, now you've pointed it out to me.
*edit*
heres a remix of the old brutaldoom guts-out imp sprites

It really needs additional sprite between first and second sprites. Too fast.osjclatchford wrote: *edit*

I think you're right there... Anyone fancy giving it a go?
*edit*
revised sheet: changes to some frames and a couple of new frames for smoother movement, looking left frame removed (is in the box as someone might still want to use it)
