Re: The Free Games Thread
Lately I'm pretty hooked on this one (don't know if has been already mentioned, if so, I apologize):

If you love RTS games and the Age of Empires saga, you shouldn't miss it!

Re: The Free Games Thread
never got into an rts like this before, but a free open source game without microtransactions.
I should try this one out, I do get the fun in making my civilizations.

Shadow Warrior Classic Complete free on GoG, not sure if this is a limited-time offer, or how recently it went free.

Re: The Free Games Thread
The DOS versions have been free for quite a while. It's the "Redux" version that costs money, since it has its own sourceport that, while lacking multiplayer, seems a bit more stable (and less savegame-eaty) than current fan-developed solutions. I wanna say that the eDuke32/Voidpoint guys are working on something, but they kind of have higher priorities right now...Caligari87 wrote:Shadow Warrior Classic Complete free on GoG, not sure if this is a limited-time offer, or how recently it went free.

Re: The Free Games Thread
i have the Redux version, and i have vivid memories of the game consistently crashing when fighting against the boss of the first episode. i never bothered going further in the game after that as it kind of soured my experience with it.

It went free on GOG when Redux was released there.Caligari87 wrote:Shadow Warrior Classic Complete free on GoG, not sure if this is a limited-time offer, or how recently it went free.

Re: The Free Games Thread
Team Fortress 2 and Unturned are Free 2 Play on Steam.
TF2 is a multiplayer FPS, but you all know that, and Unturned is not as known, but still pretty popular, it's an open world (sorta) Zombie survival FPS with a multiplayer mode, and the only thing you would need to pay would be unlocking the Gold difficulty (which i already checked out but i couldn't notice any difference) and buying your own clothes, but besides that, all weapons, most clothing and all items are obtainable on the free version.

Please avoid posting games that have been free for a very long time. This thread is for games that are free for a limited time.
Re: The Free Games Thread
unturned looks like some garbage unity experiment.
rachael allready said it but I'm just going to spam it here, read OP's post with rules he made for this thread.

Re: The Free Games Thread
Noticed that I have missed several gems here and there, but some of them actually are inside my Steam library (beside Carmageddon TDR which it was just a GoG game)... The most recent I got has been Unreal Gold, which I have fixed with a great patch for modern GPUs (well the one I hvave is an ancient Palit GeForce 610GT but too much "modern" for the game).
Sorry for the mess caused with those 2 links.

Re: The Free Games Thread
Literally two posts above you say this thread is for limited time free games, not freeware games.

Re: The Free Games Thread
Oh, OK... In that case, I should suggest to change slightly the current thread title to 'The Temporary Free Games Thread', for avoiding further confusions...Rachael wrote:Please avoid posting games that have been free for a very long time. This thread is for games that are free for a limited time.
