Default Keybindings Presets
This thread is to continue the discussion from this thread regarding keybinding presets: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=59971
Graf requested that if you want a layout for consideration as a preset, to include an ini file with that layout. You may do so here.

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
Mine is the exact same as HexenMapper's, 'cept my crouching key is 'CTRL', rather than 'C'.

A: Strafe Left
S: Move Backwards
D: Strafe Right
Q: Zoom (use item in 1 mod)
R: Reload
Space: Jump
E: Use
Ctrl: Crouch.
Z: Quicksave (not used anymore)
X: Use item.
[ ]: Previous/Next item, respectively. Bound to side mouse keys if possible. Should probably change to Z and C.
Backspace: Drop weapon.
Backslash: Drop item.
Enter: Chat.
I've found these to be the most flexible and quick to press. Not listed default keys such as Tab for automap.

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
I'm most comfortable with a USB numpad instead of the whole keyboard, so here's mine:
8: forward
4: left
5: backward
6: right
7: automap
3: crouch
mouse 1: fire
mouse 2: jump
mouse 3: item
mouse 4: use
mouse 5: alt-fire
wheel up: next weapon
wheel down: previous weapon
tilt left: next item
tilt right: previous item
8: forward
4: left
5: backward
6: right
7: automap
3: crouch
mouse 1: fire
mouse 2: jump
mouse 3: item
mouse 4: use
mouse 5: alt-fire
wheel up: next weapon
wheel down: previous weapon
tilt left: next item
tilt right: previous item

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
This setup is to keep the keyboard further to left of your desk to give the mouse more wiggle room.
I've only just found where the mac has my .ini hidden so it's a big mess. Here's the pertinent stuff tho:

Spoiler:I might change it to "z=chase" and "x=menu_endgame" to prevent cheat clashing

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
This is rather messy since it has vestigial bindings I've not bothered clearing, and probably a few erroneous ones for actions I rarely use so didn't set up correctly. But here's my bindings:

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
Might be worth putting into a preset:
EDSF move directions
M1 fire
M2 altfire
R reload
Space jump (but for me actually an alias that combines jump and swim/fly up)
Shift crouch (see note on space)
T say (this is common but it causes no end of annoyance when I typo the IDDT cheat)
Y sayteam
Mousewheel select item
Q use item
Ctrl speed
V use object
Highly unpredictable:
J, H, K, L user2, user1, user3, user4
N zoom
A drop weapon
Winkey show scores
Special use only:
W custom fov bind
B taunt in mods that have it
X freeze

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
Here are my keys. It's a mixture of both modern and oldschool:
W = Move Forward
S = Move Back
A = Strafe Left
D = Strafe Right
Q = Previous Inventory Item
E = Next Inventory Item
R = Reload
F = Use Inventory Item
Space = Use/Open
Z = Freeze
Shift = Walk/Run
Control = Crouch
Alt = Jump
W = Move Forward
S = Move Back
A = Strafe Left
D = Strafe Right
Q = Previous Inventory Item
E = Next Inventory Item
R = Reload
F = Use Inventory Item
Space = Use/Open
Z = Freeze
Shift = Walk/Run
Control = Crouch
Alt = Jump
Re: Default Keybindings Presets
Same as nazakomu's, sans inventory which is mousewheel to cycle (down=next, up=prev) and mouse3 to use. That and like eight zillion cheat commands bound to various things for testing, but that doesn't count.
...I probably should post an actual INI, but frankly, all the minor differences (e.g. crouch and inventory controls) are things I don't really care about needing to rebind (plus those are going to vary a lot more than, say, the movement keys so we'll have to just settle on something). Just pretend I posted HexenMapper's INI.

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
I'd also like the ability to start with absolutely no bindings set besides show console. Usually when I do a fresh start of an INI, I go through and delete all the existing binds and then bind only the one key I want to do the thing. The only key really that I never change is the console key, if you can even change it.

Seconded, though I just use my autoexec:Nevander wrote:I'd also like the ability to start with absolutely no bindings set besides show console. alias -jumpandmoveup "-jump; -moveup"
alias +crouchandmovedown "+crouch; +movedown"
alias -crouchandmovedown "-crouch; -movedown"
alias addbots "addbot;addbot;addbot;"
//bindings
bind e +forward
bind d +back
bind s +moveleft
bind f +moveright
bind mouse1 +attack
bind mouse2 +altattack
bind n +zoom
bind space +jumpandmoveup
bind shift +crouchandmovedown
bind ctrl +speed
bind v +use
bind w zoomtog
bind x freeze
Re: Default Keybindings Presets
For me it's
WASD : Movement / strafing
E : Use / Open
Q : Activate Inventory Item
Z : Zoom
Spacebar : Jump
CTRL : Crouch
C : Toggle Crouch
LSHIFT : Run
Left / Right Arrows : Next / Previous Item
Left Mouse Button : Fire
Right Mouse Button : Secondary Fire
Haven't found any real use for the other controls yet, especially the fly/swim up and down since I usually turn on mouselook for that kinda thing.

Re: Default Keybindings Presets
Incredibly small sample size, but so far we have (for movement alone):
WASD: 8
8/4/5/6 : 1
p/l/;/' : 1
ESDF: 2
Need more data, but at this stage you can certainly see WASD is the most popular.
