Main File! (Disclaimer: Some weapons may not be balanced!) Music Wad Coming Soon! Quit Sounds Wad Coming Soon!
Le Phantom is a weapons mod for Doom/Doom 2 created and modified by myself. Even though most of my previous projects are dead, I am devoted on creating and improving on this mod.
The mod's first alpha has been released for the first episode of Persona 5: the Animation, on April 7th! This alpha version will focus on the basic mechanics of the weapons, although they may not be the most balanced.
Features as of 3/24/18 introduced for ALPHA V0.15:
-Smooth and Modified Persona 5-Styled Sprites
-8-Slot Ranged Weapons additionally have melee attacks which can be performed by the Alt-fire
-Some Weapons' melee attacks are performed by timed combos, while others are performed by non-stop combos
-Additional wads that include Persona 5 music wad and an ENG quit sound pack
-Critical Hits are performed by chance, Taking Away Demons'Hearts!
Features planned for future versions:
-Summon Personas obtained by fallen enemies
-Stronger and weaker types of guns (i.e. Thompson > UZI)
-Upcoming secret Persona user enemy.
-More Authentic Persona 5 Sounds.
-(More Coming Soon!)
SCREENSHOTS:
Spoiler:
Handgun w/ Knife Shotgun Slingshot Uzi Thompson M16 Colt Python
If you played Persona 5, which weapons match best with each of the Phantom Thieves?
(More Coming Soon!)
Difficulties That I Need Help On/ Disclaimers:
Spoiler:
-I'm not that good at complex coding when it comes to ZDoom scripting, since I began to attempt to make simple mods with no scripts based around my interests and THAT Vidcon meme in 2017.
-Custom Bullet Puffs do not react to A_Jump at the beginning of a spawn state.
-This and Custom blood also do not react to A_SpawnItemEx as well, limiting sprite variety on my mod.
-Some weapons may not be as balanced to people as I best think they are(also the slingshot isn't that good anyways unless you use it for long-ranged shots).
-Sprites may hurt others' eyes, but some may also not hurt others as well. Turning down the brightness might help.

Ohh, shit. When I saw the thread title, and the thread preview's image, I knew this was going to be about P5.
Though, I was surprised nobody did one for Persona 3 even to this date, even when you take a look on the method on how you unleash your persona there; you shoot yourself with a (fake, almost real but fake) handgun there.
Is this going to have Personas as well? It doesn't have to be Persona 5 originals or something, but just an ability to summon your own monster, just any monster or something that could fight for you.
EDIT: There's grenade launcher sprites lying around, perfect for emulating Haru here.

Yes, there will be Personas, or allied monsters, that support you, though it won't happen in this upcoming beta because I'm focusing on the basic weapon functions. Also I'm using a modified grenade launcher from Police Brutality by WildWeasel(I will credit him) for Haru's slot, my favorite P5 character!
Fact: For guns in the Persona series, they were first used as weapons in Revelations: Persona, or Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, however they were not used as actual weapons throughout the series until P5, not to mention P3 used Evokers only to summon personas. While Persona 4's Naoto used firearms as a weapon, it was only one gun type(handgun), and the variety of ranged weapon types in Persona 5 inspired me to create this mod.
I'm sure you have some stylistic reason for it, but man is that bright red drop shadow you're using hurting the fuck outta my eyes. I think it's having a chromatic aberration effect, it's really uncomfortable to look at.

Sorry about that, it's common for some people to experience this weird feeling, but it's inspired by the red drop shadow used for the battle commands in Persona 5. At least it's not a confusing red/cyan 3D style. I hope your monitor isn't too bright by the way.
Well, what can I say? It's a very early beta. Extremely early. Possibly an alpha instead.
Some notes:
Is it me, or does the slingshot crit more often?
Crits should play a big hit sound. Maybe regular hits should play a hit sound too, but a smaller one.
Handgun and Thompson have the same ammo icon, but use separate ammo types. This is a little confusing. I recommend merging the SMG/Handgun ammo types, because you're working from a limited graphics source. Besides, the handguns work as a more accurate companion to the practically-a-supershotty Thompson.
Will the demon-summoning system revolve around spellcasting, or will we be just summoning a friendly ____?

-I wanted to increase the chances of the Slingshot's critical hits in order to balance the weapons, but I could think otherwise.
-I could use the devil summoning system for both or either IF someone could help me with ZDoom scripting, because I am trying to understand how scripting works in other mods, but I probably am not too knowledgeable about that level of coding.
