GZDoom Builder: SVG Import &/or Inkscape copypasta

Post by 00face »

Thanks for GZDoom Builder so far :3: .

I have looked all over have not found anyway to import SVG or vectors as lines into a Doom wad file. I think it would be a great feature I and many others would greatly appreciate. Thanks for time and again for GZDB.

Edit:

Basically this would desirably work as an SVG with only one layer or copy pasting from InkScape. Then you could create sectors and such as you normally would.

Welcome to the forums; I've taken the liberty of moving your topic out of Feature Suggestions and into the Mapping subforum, since Feature Suggestions is only for GZDoom itself.

GZDoom Builder (GZDB) is no longer maintained. The successor is GZDoom Builder - Bugfix (GZDBBF).

From that comment I take it that you design the map layout with Inkscape, instead of pen and paper

Until such time that SVG images are possible in GZDBBF, you could take a screenshot of the svg image in either bmp, gif or png, and bring it into GZDBBF as a backdrop in Custom Grid Setup:

and scale it appropriately.
