Re: Poll about Fidget Spinners
Well, I'm certainly proud of 'em, from how much that made me crack up.
Re: Poll about Fidget Spinners
They both primarily serve the purpose of keeping one's hands occupied (thus helping to prevent, y'know, fidgeting), but the spinner has the drawback of being a significant distraction in itself. The cube's less exciting to look at, so it has less of a risk of backfiring in that manner.Viscra Maelstrom wrote:It's a bit annoying an item that (supposedly) were designed for people with autism and adhd to fidget with so they can better concentrate on menial tasks have been banned from schools because they've become a giant memetic fad. Or was it just the fidget cube that was made for that?
I don't have any, but if I did, I'd probably only get one. Maybe two. They're a neat little thing, but I don't understand the obsessive collecting; it's not like you can really do anything with a hundred of them that you couldn't do with half a dozen. Most of them aren't even appreciably different from one another.
...I wonder what it would've been like if our modern social media was a thing back in the days of fads like pogs... Actually, on second thought, maybe that's better left unexplored.

I'm almost ashamed to say that my city had a Pog tournament yesterday.Ethril wrote:...I wonder what it would've been like if our modern social media was a thing back in the days of fads like pogs... Actually, on second thought, maybe that's better left unexplored.

Re: Poll about Fidget Spinners
Well thanks Cali, that got dark fast.
I don't really mind them (as long as they're not noisy and not being pushed in my face like "ooh look at this so cool"). Personally I prefer my Gripmaster for reducing the nail-biting and such.

Re: Poll about Fidget Spinners
they haven't hit my country yet, this is my first time hearing about them but I have a feeling in a few months they'll all be popping up on Ebay, under beds and in closets shrouded in dust and making way for the next craze.

What a waste of a perfectly good pun; They should have gone with "Apogalypse"! (Even "Pognarok" would have been better)Caligari87 wrote:Pogageddon

Re: Poll about Fidget Spinners
I personally dont care for them and don't see the appeal.
Though Im very amused by the people who get so upset when you mention it.
Its a toy, a piece of plastic that happened to get popular. There are bigger things to get fuckin upset about.
The only way i see a fidget spinner being dangerous is if you throw it at a guy really hard.

I would assume they've had similar events in the past, and those were used up.Ethril wrote:What a waste of a perfectly good pun; They should have gone with "Apogalypse"! (Even "Pognarok" would have been better)
Re: Poll about Fidget Spinners
if they are anything like beyblades they could be lethal, I remember those things if you unleashed them very fast and then try to pick them up while spinning, they'd be red hot and slice up ya fingers.jazzmaster9 wrote: The only way i see a fidget spinner being dangerous is if you throw it at a guy really hard.
