So, many of you may have heard of the Xbox Design Lab, where you can design your own personalized controller. With it just having launched this side of the pond, I decided to order one as a little luxury.
Whilst in work on Thursday, I received a call from FedEx telling me that they had tried to deliver but there was no answer. After a bit of negotiating I got them to deliver it to one of my neighbours the following day. This happens all the time and is normally not a big deal. However, when I got home I had expected to find a card or something telling me where it was, but nothing. So I gave them a call. They told me it had been signed for by a name I didn't recognize, that it was too late to find out the address of where it was delivered to and that I would have to wait until Monday for the delivery driver to get in touch with me.
No one I've spoekn to in my street knows who this person is, which leads me to believe that the idiot has delivered it to the wrong street. I'm not even worried about the money I spent, moreso the fact that a complete stranger now has my name, address and online alias. A simple Google search for "scalliano" pretty much lays my life bare for all to see.
In essence, FedEx have more or less doxxed me, and I have no idea what to do next. Do I talk to a solicitor? The police?
The irony is that I'm not actually known as scalliano on Xbox Live ...
My faith in delivery services that are not the United States Postal Service has been steadily dropping for the past ten years, and this about cements my already low faith in Federal Express in place. I hope there is a resolution on this soon.
EDIT: I just noticed your location is Ireland. I kind of doubt that the USPS operates there.
Really hoping everything will be okay.
