That flamethrower dude is giving me a raging stiffy. He looks good enough to fit into the original game.

If he's a flamer, why does he have a bullet belt draped across his arms?

Should be clearer when seen from all angles - it's a hose, it's thinner than the bullet belt on the chainguner, and he has tanks on the back instead of an ammo pack.

Makes sense. I saw the shoulder straps and thought there might be a tank back there.

Man, it's gotta be so cool using these monster sprites... I would've loved to code them. :D

I wonder what the yellow-orange-dressed Chaingunner is supposed to do... unless that's just the standard Chaingunner with different colors.

Now he's cooking with gas!

And yeah, it IS actually a hose. Not a bullet belt. Damn.

I also initially mistook the hose for a bullet belt, as it just does not make any sense for the Flamer to hold a hose like that. I would rather have the hose connect to the tank from behind.

He could be holding it like that so that he doesn't trip over the hose.

I would say holding a hose that way makes it actually more likely for the Flamer to trip over it. Moreover, I do not even see why a flamethrower would require a hose so long that even a big, tall dude has to hold it with one hand. I think it should be much shorter, like this:

Agreed on the shorter hose.

However, with the longer hose, consider what would happen if the guy actually didn't hold it at all. If you think about it, it'd touch the ground, thereby making the flamer more prone to tripping over it. The way the flamer is holding it right now will prevent that from happening.

It also looks cool holding it, so that's a thing.
But keeping design similarities with the chaingunner is a good idea as it would let the player know about who big of a threat this guy will be.

Interesting thought. I didn't really think of it that way, but now I see it. :D

That's why I was more comfortable with it looking more like a Chaingunner...

Of course the real reason why the Flamer is holding the hose like that is because its based off of the Chaingunner, and Cage improvised by just painting over the Chaingunners ammo belt :P. He has a ton of monster sprites to do so that's probably the main reason why he's holding it (it was just easier/faster that way). It's probably not a huge deal in the end since it seems to make more sense once you see him in action. But I appreciate the feedback all the same!

Amazing colour palette and lighting, and as always, your level design stuff remains top quality. Ten thumbs up. :D
Thanks a lot Nash! Cage and PillowBlaster have both put lots of work into making sure some of the GZDoom effects work properly, and its looked awesome so far. So I'm trying to show off that stuff when I work on my maps :)

I am very curious to see how the Flamer is going to work. Is it going to behave like a small Mancubus, shooting one fireball at a time?

We're still in the process of balancing everything, so he might change a bit by the time he's finished. But the idea is that he will be a close/medium range only enemy that does a lot of damage, but is totally useless outside of the flame's range. That range is the thing that needs balancing, and I forget exactly which the max range is at the moment. He also explodes on death so you can use him as a sort of walking barrel and take out other monsters nearby.

At the moment he has slightly less health than a Chaingunner, and I think he moves just a tiny bit faster.
