On win 7 ZDoom 1.23 worked right out of the box with wrong colors but not here, only DXGL works. The installer ticked the VS 2010 runtime but it was not needed so i unticked it. ZDoom runs with default settings, i just had to add the ZDoom executable to the configuration program and it works well (copies the wrapper's ddraw.dll to your executable folder). The program comes with windows help.

Pardon my remark, but I find it interesting that you want to ask this of him, when I recall asking you a similar thing in one of your own threads and never got a straight answer.

Okay, but I had suggested alternatives that would target said older hardware, and you never gave a reason why it had to be ZDoom 1.17 specifically instead of Boom or Eternity.

No idea, i don't use 1.23 i just wanted to run old versions for comparison and historical reasons. I also tried even older ones on my modern machines and they run with DXGL.
