Youtube image tag?

Postby Voros » Sun Aug 06, 2017 3:36 am

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/OcsGKMCY_Tw/hqdefault.jpg is a typical image shown when the video isn't playing. Replacing the string between /vi/ and /hqdefault.jpg and linking it, via img tags, will show the corresponding video's preview image/whatever you call it.

Would be nice if tags were available such as
Code: Select allExpand view
[ytimg]8d60rNRtc5k[/ytimg]

Would essentially be the same as
Code: Select allExpand view
[img]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/8d60rNRtc5k/hqdefault.jpg[/img]

There was an imgur tag added recently last I checked. What about this too? I understand it's not in high demand, but it can be handy when needed.

I don't really understand the use case for this. The tag would be easy enough to add, but the reason for it baffles me.
