Crash after clicking "Abort Network Game"

Postby Proydoha » Tue Jun 21, 2022 11:08 am

GZDoom 4.8.0 crashes after clicking "Abort Network Game" when started with parameters "-join localhost" (no games hosted on localhost).
Same happens if its started with "-host 2" and "Abort Network Game" is clicked before anyone joins.

Crash does not happen in earlier release versions.

Probably a duplicate, this has already been fixed in development builds.

Downloaded latest devbuild (gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-26-g3213f046c). Crash still happens for me.

You are right, I've been able to reproduce the crash. It now happens on this line, ticdup is 0. So either this report or the old one should be reopened.

I still wasn't able to reproduce it, but I hope that setting the variable to 1 on start will help. No idea why its initial value was 0...

-host 2 no longer crashes for me, but it does trigger an assertion failure here when aborting. Call stack:

-join localhost also triggers the same assert on aborting the game, and then crashes with an access violation on this line (TMap<FName,FBaseCVar * __ptr64,THashTraits<FName>,TValueTraits<FBaseCVar * __ptr64> >::CheckKey(...) returned nullptr). Call stack:

If necessary, I can open a separate report for these two issues (or even two separate reports).
