Compared to version 4.6.1, punches are missing a lot more, especially pinkies, most punches wiff, as if they don't reach the enemy.
Experimented multiple times on UD e2m2.
I've tried setting the compatibility in game & the compatflags value via command line.
The compat flags used on the command line:
+compatmode 2 +"compatflags -1172751401" +compatflags2 523

I'm suspecting it's not related to the compatflags at all, but to this fixed bug. Can you try again on 4.7.0?

That is a MBF21 related fix and the change was not in 4.6.1.

As Drfrag said, already using 4.7 (available on the release thread).
Sorry if wasn't specific, legit forgot to mention it.
I tried an pwad, just in case I'm just crazy & clean configs.
Doom 2 in Spain only (https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/level ... ds/d2isov2), on the first level, the two specters at the end of the hallway are a lot more troublesome to kill with fists. On 4.6.1 instead they are a non issue.

Didn't see your link Wildweasel, it feels like that at least, in terms of hit consistency.
Made 2 recordings, both for 4.6.1 & a the lates dev build, gzdoom-x64-g4.8pre-6-g25350109e (it's behaving the same way for me):
