Sound Issues With Some VGZ Files in 4.6.0

Postby Mor'Ladim » Sun Jun 13, 2021 6:15 am

A few .VGZ music files (Sega Genesis/Master System music) sound different than they did in 4.5.0 - as in they seem to be missing some instruments. This appears to be related to the "zmusic.dll" file, as replacing said file from 4.6.0 with the file from 4.5.0 fixes the issues.

For an example, download the development branch of Bullet-Eye here:

1. Use the "changemus" console command and enter either "BELMS123" or "BELMS124". Only the first 3-5 seconds or so need to be listened to.
2. After listening to either track in-game, head to this link and listen to either "Protector" (BELMS123) or "Red Zone" (BELMS124): https://project2612.org/details.php?id=188

There also seems to be some very minor framerate issues when a new .VGZ track is played/switched to.
