gbb58dedff After Raze Backend, Vulkan shows black triangles

Post by SanyaWaffles »

I tried this with my fork of GZDoom, but I can confirm it's in the main GZDoom as well, ruling out something wonky with my buildchain/specific changes to the engine.

Tested with GZDoom x64 Git Revision gbb58dedff

The above screenshot is with Vulkan

The above screenshot is with OpenGL.

I tried this with an older build of GZDoom and it works as intended. I suspect something with the recent Raze Backend as that's the only major change to the graphics renderer I think.

It's present in the public build of Scoot Hard DX - E2S1. It''s visible towards the beginning of the level.

I stripped the music down, best I could do on such short notice to get the bug reproducable in a small package.

"Near the end of the level" is a very helpful description for something I have never seen... :?

I have an idea which commit is causing it, but I am a bit surprised that it still happens this easily, I have tried multiple times to properly fix this thing but nothing worked...

I meant at the beginning of the level. You look off to the right at E2S1 and look down, you cant' miss it. Sorry about that.

I found a far better spot to get the same glitch (Cold as Hell, MAP07, near that icy pond at the start.)
I already reverted the commit responsible. Ironically I made the change because I assumed it would eradicate the glitch for good, but if it makes it even worse, no need keeping it.

I still need to rethink how to deal with these portals, though. The underlying problem is still there.
