SSAO applies to some decals

Postby Marisa Kirisame » Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:50 pm

I've always wondered why decals that fade out looked weird and had this odd "pop" when they were fully removed. Turns out SSAO was applying to them, somehow.

This can be easily reproduced by firing the plasma rifle at any wall and watching the fullbright part of the decal fade out.

There's nobody here who could fix SSAO.
Remember, the feature was added despite my reservations. I knew how unstable it is but some people 'needed it (TM)'. So there you go, from my point of view it's unsupported and I won't even look into anything related to SSAO.
