in case this isn't a bug, but intended behaviour, move this to feature suggestions instead
standard "go to map01 and see what happens" fare

Not a bug. This function is designed to see if a point is within the main map play area or out in the void. Because 3D floors are within the main map itself, it stands to reason that they are within the map itself.
