And that said, without the rest of the crash log we cannot do anything here at all because we do not even know what CPU this is!

Somehow I am getting the dreaded feeling that we're not going to get one from this guy, despite the number of times we've asked for it. I'm honestly tempted to just close this.

I think this is a VS compiler bug with code generation and intrinsics, recompiling with a more recent version should fix the problem if i'm not wrong.

This sounded vaguely familiar, it's not related to this earlier report against Lithium is it?

Yes, most likely it's the same problem.
As a workaround I can only propose to build a version of sndfile DLL without usage of newer instruction sets.
