Different rendering depending on window size?
I am using a 21:9 monitor, and I have noticed that my Doom looks different on half size window, than it does maximized (but still not full screen).
maybe it's hard to capture it on screen, but things that are obvious on this screen for example is the floor. on the 21:9 screen it's more orangey, saturated.- Graf Zahl

4 letters: SSAO!
Wanna bet that this goes away if you switch it off?

If we're talking about "Ambient Occlusion Quality" I had it medium, now it's off, and the problem persist.
I scrolled through the settings twice and haven't seen a single "SSAO", but I heard that name before

Re: Different rendering depending on window size?
This is actually caused by bloom, not SSAO. I suspect the stronger bloom on the bottom pic happens due to the average luminance being lower.
Re: Different rendering depending on window size?
Indeed it is the bloom settings that ARE visible when you press maximize button on the windows, or winkey+up arrow key.
But at the same time, I can do fake maximize by just stretching the window of gzdoom to the same ratio, give it or take few pixels less, and the effect is completly gone. Upon maximizing, it is saturated again.
This must be something with the rendering.

Unless you get different results with Bloom off I see no point for further investigation.
Bloom being somewhat unpredictable and unreliable is a known issue that unfortunately does not have an easy fix.

Re: Different rendering depending on window size?
If I maximize the window of gzdoom using button in the top right corner the bloom is visible.
Marisa Kirisame says it's due to luminance being lower. I just did an experiment and I have manually resized the bottom right corner of the window to the same dimensions, 1:1 pixel manually and then the bloom is not visible.
It feels like the bloom is only enabled when gzdoom is in maximized state, and not in custom height/width, even if it matches the maximized state resolution.

Re: Different rendering depending on window size?
That's not what I was asking. What I was asking is if that effect is only present if bloom is on, in other words: Is there a difference when bloom is off?
In any case I think it's a duplicate of this: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=60367

Re: Different rendering depending on window size?
If I turn off the bloom - image looks the same across all window ratios.
With Bloom turned ON - it looks different only in true 'maximized' state.
I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at in the thread you linked. The sky looks oldschool in the first screenshot, the rest looks more modern.

It's also about bloom not doing what one might expect.
