When firing while standing very close to a line portal, the fired projectile 'disappears' but only under certain conditions.

In this test map you're given a plasma gun and simply told to fire it (don't move). The plasma balls don't seem to appear and if the fire button is held a te-te-te-te-te-te sound is heard. After a few seconds the plasma balls seem to impact the wall behind you (from the void?)
Strangely enough this happens because, in this case, the portal line's destination is south of it. If the destination was north then the bug doesn't happen and the projectile fires normally.
In a map I'm working on there are a lot of line portals. The same issue happens with some of them. Two of them manage to lock-up/freeze the engine if the same bug is triggered.
Testing this with 3.1.0 produces this old bug. Not sure if it's related.

fixed. It was only partially related to the old bug because the fix for that didn't account for some special scenario that triggered the new bug.
