if you flag the 3rd bit (bit 2) in the second argument of Transfer_Heights (a value of 4 at any rate) then when you jump onto the water the sound it makes is the sound of the floor flat of the sector and not that of the actual water. This results in a 'thud' sound made when I land in some lava (which should sizzle) because the floor under the deep lava is a rock flat which has a thud sound defined for it in TERRAIN.
This is also why some of the water in massm2 make splashes and some don't (which I had wondered about for the longest time).
