Massm2 bug with 47i?

Post by Biff »

Just got massm2, but cannot play it with 47i. I get the fatal error:

"You cannot use clearepisodes in a MAPINFO if you do not define any new episodes after it".

I'll try rebooting "and stuff" but...huh?

Edit: Confirmed that massm2 does not work with 47i. It DOES work with 47.cab.

yeah I mentioned that in another thread, actually it's weird but if you start up zdoom windowed that error never (or almost never) occurs and you can then fullscreen it and play just fine

Caused by an uninitialized variable my compiler didn't catch.

ah cool you fixed it then. you didn't happen to figure out what was casuing the crash on map08 did you?

biff: yeah if I have pms enabled I tend to inadvertantly ignore them, so you're better off emailing me: cyb@vect.org

No, I haven't had a chance to sit down and play straight from MAP01 to MAP08 yet. (But I did cheat and have a look at all the maps. I thought the Texas Linguine Foundation was especially cool. :-) )

^MSVC

(thinker-bubble) since ACS is near to C, what about making ACS pure C and let
it link with say libacs.a... oh well that would be no good idea, if doomers
would compile it with M$VC :-X :-)

I finally got Massmouth2 today (only 3 hours) and I have been playing it fullscreen with no errors so far. I am using it with a launcher that warps me to map01, but I have been able to call up the menu and start either episode repeatedly without any problems. But, maybe the launcher is enough to avoid the problem.

Got to say, from what I've seen so far - a fantastic piece of work, good looking, good to play, as much its own world as "Zan Zan", and jam packed with humour. Damn fine job! :D

I just played from start to end with the debug build (in god mode to make sure I didn't die and need to reload any saves), and it never crashed once. So either it is something very nasty that only happens with the release build, or I fixed it without realizing it. Hopefully the latter.
