[REQUEST] ZKVN engine made by The Zombie Killer
Does anyone happen to have a finished pk3 file of the ZKVN engine made by The Zombie Killer or an alternative way to compile it? I've tried to compile the engine myself by using the GDCC as instructed, but every version I've ran returned errors or did not completely generate the pk3 file.

Its old, but id like to know what the errors were. The author of GDCC has an account here.
ZKVN is quite a signficant project, so any compiled builds are indeed welcome.

Sorry for the late reply.
It doesn't give me an error, but rather it just pumps this out every time I try to compile it.

So unlike what the picture says, there is no zkvn.pk3?
I could ask Zombie on Discord about this.

It generates one, however, it does not work.

It looks as if the compiler is acting like it hasn't been given any arguments.

It could probably have to do with something about the .bat file that the instruction have told told me to use.

I would not randomly assume its an error by the author. The bat file might need to be customized to your own path.Kreikon wrote:It could probably have to do with something about the .bat file that the instruction have told told me to use.
Nevertheless, i notified Zombie on Discord of this. Perhaps something good may come out of it.

Re: [REQUEST] ZKVN engine made by The Zombie Killer
ZKVN was one of my first forays into messing around with a visual novel engine, and suffers from many poor design decisions. I couldn't confidently recommend using it.
That said, if you really want to get it to compile, you may have to use an older version of GDCC. If I recall correctly, newer versions had some command line parameter changes, which breaks compatibility with ZKVN's build script.
If I have free time, I'll look into what changes are necessary to get it working over the next few days, but my honest recommendation is to write your own system in ZScript or something, which would be far more stable & usable.
