[Request] A long bow!
I tried editing the tired old whore that is the witchhaven bow, and it looked terrible.
Essentially we need a wide-screen friendly long bow that uses the doom guys hands; This is for the hunter class we have on Island.
Future thanks.

Re: [Request] A long bow!
If you have TF2, you could try using the Huntsman.
Re: [Request] A long bow!
That would lead to a disgusting weapon inconsistency; Unless somebody has a photoshop method that game make such rips look doomish.Ichor wrote:If you have TF2, you could try using the Huntsman.

Lower the resolution and put Doom hands on it? Seems to work for a lot of things.Firewolf wrote:That would lead to a disgusting weapon inconsistency; Unless somebody has a photoshop method that game make such rips look doomish.Ichor wrote:If you have TF2, you could try using the Huntsman.

TF2 is the game that uses shaders to make everything look like a 70s (or 80s?) pictures.Spleen wrote:Lower the resolution and put Doom hands on it? Of course, desaturation and increased contrast would probally help fix it.

Re: [Request] A long bow!
Needs moar string.
Re: [Request] A long bow!
Needs moar long. ie, it's very short for a longbow. I think almost 6' is about right.
Not bad but...
In the "What it should look like" picture, the arrow is on the wrong side of the bow. Also, one arm looks much smoother than the other (and I don't just think it is because one is the back of the arm and the other is the front)

The arrow is on the right side of the bow. See?
Problem is, to shoot a bow and actually hit something with it you have to look along the arrow so you can see where it should go.
Attached an example to show what I mean.

Re: [Request] A long bow!
I've never understood why that hand that is holding the arrow on Joey's post is so overused; it looks like it has a fucking tumour on the bottom.
Re: [Request] A long bow!
I stand corrected. You think I'd know because I've done quite a bit of archery.Bartholomeus wrote:The arrow is on the right side of the bow. See?
Mind you, I do things a bit messed up anyway because although I'm left-eyed, I prefer to use a the more typical right-eyed stance.

Enjay, don't be so wishy-washy; you were right the first time.Enjay wrote:I stand corrected. You think I'd know because I've done quite a bit of archery.Bartholomeus wrote:The arrow is on the right side of the bow. See?

Most bows made for right-handed users, and that incorporate an arrow-rest will have it on the LEFT side; this is the side that will be uppermost if the right-handed archer (holding the bow in the left hand) holds the bow horizontal. If the arrow is on the right side of the bow, it will fall away from the bow when the bow is held horizontal, and the left index finger will not be able to retain it in position.
You can see the stance I refer to here.
And, yes, I have done archery.
Under closer examination, the picture that Bartholomeus links to does not, in fact, show the arrow on the right side of the bow.
EDIT: Oh, and more to the point, has the OP (or anyone else) tried to rip the bow from Thief?
