Any chance someone could do an awesome muzzle flash (any color you like! it's an energy weapon!) and a pickup sprite for this?
Re: Resource Request thread *Read 1st post*
I'm looking for a reasonably photo-realistic-looking set of sprites that would be suitable for a landmine explosion.
Something like this:
would be ideal if it was photo-realisitic.
I've managed to get one from MoHAA but it's not great. So, any other suggestions?

No offense intended, but I'd like to see if anybody here could do something better.

Is that the Wolfenstein addon or the actual MoH game from 2002? Or is it something completely different?Enjay wrote:MoHAA
I think DN3D has some great explosion looking stuff you could use as a base.
What is that originally from? I think of Dark Forces when I see it, but I don't remember that weapon. Bane made a cool muzzle flash for his Quad Shotgun (and made it a separate resource) that you might like to see. I think it would be very hard to make one of those flashes where the gun gradually lights up (as if the blast is getting stronger over time) like most energy weapons do.wildweasel wrote:Any chance someone could do an awesome muzzle flash (any color you like! it's an energy weapon!) and a pickup sprite for this?

The actual Medal of Honor: Allied Assault game.gerolf wrote:Is that the Wolfenstein addon or the actual MoH game from 2002? Or is it something completely different?

Here's what I have:
It's not awful but the first 3 frames are a bit asymmetrical (which looks silly when every single explosion goes off the same way), the smoke is a bit thick and heavy and the colours generally don't tie in well with the other effects that I am using. I can probably improve the lop-sidedness reasonably easy but I wouldn't mind getting some better base sprites to work with in the first place.
[edit] OK, this looks better in game and isn't too obvious that the early frames are flipped left/right to make them more symmetrical. Messing with translucency levels in DECORATE has also helped the smoke problem. However, if anyone can improve on what I've done, or has a suitable replacement, I'd still appreciate it.
[/edit]
I already looked at Duke Nukem and the sprites are not photo realistic enough and my graphics skills aren't either. So "upgrading it" isn't possible for me. The Duke Nukem Hi-res pack has more photo realistic sprites and I have used them elsewhere but they don't really give off the "this explosion was spawned by a landmine" vibe.

I'd like to request a sheet of Doomguy hands that could go on the sword for Hexen's fighter, or the axe. (Are the hands the same on those weapons? Either way, they're similar.)

Anyone know where I can get my hands on the sounds from Alien Vs. Predator 2 (Y'know the good one made by Monolith)? I want more of the marine/human sounds (Particularly the scared sounds from them) instead of the alien ones, if that helps at all.

Are there any sprites similar to this lying around?
