the rendering quality setting has no effect
I don't know if this is a bug or not, probably not, but i've noticed that on the GL 2.1 legacy render path you cannot enable the quality rendering mode. That CVAR has no effect and i always get the speed quality level, this happens at least on my old ATI card. BTW i guess 1.9.1 should be much better on my system (with those 1.2 shaders) but i don't notice much of a difference besides the mentioned problem.

Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
If my memory is correct about what the Quality setting actually does (i.e. helps get rid of "poly gaps"/white dots in map geometry), then I can confirm that having it set to Quality does nothing for me. Relevant information about my video card from Speccy:
And for reference, my testing has been with GZDoom stable version 3.1.0.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Last version with the option working for me was 1.9.1, not working on 2.2.

Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
I've done more testing on a Geforce 7300 with OpenGL 2.0.3. Still no difference on GZDoom 2.2 but now the game always looks good while on my ati card (radeon x1250 and GL 2.1.8) always looks bad (with the dots). On 1.9.1 it's the same, there's no difference here (the switch worked on my ati card).
I still don't see much of a difference between the two versions on this card (with or without shaders).
To clarify things a bit the switch doesn't work on 2.2 and later versions on my ati integrated video.

Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
I can confirm at least on my GTX 770 that the quality option is working, but not as well as it used to be. With older versions of GZDoom, I've experienced no issues what so ever. White pixels are frequent with the Quality setting, but not as much as Speed.
Computer specs 'cause reasons:
Windows 10, Creator's Update (Up to date, as always)
Intel Core i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz
12 GB of RAM
EVGA GTX 770 SC
NVIDIA Driver Version: 382.33

I can confirm it works with 2.2 on my Radeon HD 4650 with GL 3.3 support.
Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
This works with Legacy mode, last I checked. in fact, toggling it helps remove the "polygon fan" medusa bug I was experiencing.

Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
Fixed. This was just one little missing '&' in a variable declaration that caused the info to be written into the void...

Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
Sorry Graf, it's hanging around in my case:
It looks identical with either Speed or Quality. I'm on a Mac if that matters...Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
What's the version you are using?

It is g3.2.5a with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1024 MB. Hopefully relevant?
Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
How can the fix made January 21th appear in the build released January 6th?

Re: the rendering quality setting has no effect
When I read of the fix I immediately went to https://zdoom.org/downloads and downloaded the Mac version. I just downloaded it again- still has white spots...
Oh it still says 4th of Jan above the link??
