These are not rejected - but are not considered highly important right now.

Weapon depth in stereoscopic / VR mode

Postby innuendo1231 » Tue May 18, 2021 11:40 am

Hello dear devs!

The stereoscopic feature is great! I'm really enjoying it on a 3DTV.
The only problem with it is that the weapon is at screen depth, which is quite dissonant when something (floor, wall, door or any object) is closer than screen depth. You know, you look down and the weapon is "inside" the floor >_>

The solution is probably to bring the complete HUD closer. Giving it an andjustable opposing offset on the two eyes should do the trick.

Another optional upgrade would be to inlcude a reversed mode for row interleaved. I have to use the glasses upside down on my tv....
Anyway, the first one is more important, hope someone can do this.

Cheers!

Unfortunately, the people who worked on the stereoscopic/VR modes have drifted off a while ago, so the related code has remained kinda dormant in the meanwhile. Updates to it are unlikely for the time being, unless some new volunteers step up.

Hm, I see.

But in case someone will need it, I found a way to swap the eyes :)

I looked around in the source code and found that a varaible was created for this puropose:
vr_swap_eyes

it worrks!
