Plasma rifle lowers the volume of other noises

For some reason whenever I use the plasma rifle in LZDOOM it lowers the volume of noises like the music and monsters. I didn't find any fix in the settings at all.

Doesn't happen for me. Which version? 3.87c? 32 or 64 bit?

This quite likely has nothing to do with LZDoom. If you are on Windows, hit WIN+R and type "mmsys.cpl"

Double click your main speakers on the window that comes up


A window pops up, go to the Enhancements tab, and turn off "Loudness Equalization"
