Loading taking to long on GZDoom 4.4.2

Postby Vash Greenstock » Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:02 pm

For some reason whenever i try to load even normal doom the melting part where it melts into the real game takes up to a minute maybe longer and looks like it goes at 1 fps while loading when the day before it was performing perfectly fine. Im using windows 10 by the way and didnt change anything on GZDoom from the day before to now.

What's your hardware specs?
Also, did you get a Windows update recently?

That hardware is way, way too slow for GZDoom, especially the Baytrail part (Which was used in the first generation 2013/2014 Windows x86 tablets).

Try using LZDoom instead, which is far friendlier to this kind of hardware.

This actually seems to be a duplicate of viewtopic.php?f=50&t=68971 too, mostly, judging by the OP's main issue - very slow melting effect.

Ugh, that is both a keen eye and very poignantly annoying. Ill have to do some quoting then.

Even then so, the hardware that's used is way too slow for proper GZDoom usage anyway - The screen melt bug and possible fix is just a positive byeffect.

Yeah, pretty much, even if the screen melt gets fixed, OP's hardware is far too slow and old to benefit from it.
