[Linux] How do I use SC-55 soundfont with GZDoom?

First off, I apologize if this post has reached the wrong sub-forum.

I would like to utilize the SC-55.sfpack soundfont created by Patch93 to play music in GZDoom. I am running Ubuntu 18.04 with the latest GZDoom version. I downloaded the soundfont, but at this point I really have no idea what to do next. I read about CoolSoft, but it appears to be Windows-only. I also read that TiMidity or Fluidsynth might be able to act as a soundfont player, but I don't know how to set this up. Can anyone assist? Thanks!

First you need to unpack the sound font. SFPack is a compressed format that cannot be used as-is.
Once you have the .sf2 file, put it in a 'soundfonts' subfolder where your game data is and it should be found automatically.
