Save Games

Post by Kuroshi »

When I try to save in coop ZDooM tries to save a copy on every computer in the same directory. I understand that a copy is needed on every computer, but it seems to default to the c:\zdoom directory when saving. The problem is, one of our guys has a double partitioned hard drive and stores all games on his d: drive. So when I save, it give him an error 'Unable to create c:\zdoom\save1...' since it tries to save to his c: drive in a non-existant directory instead of his d: drive. It only does this during multiplayer, single player works fine. Is there any way to force zdoom to save to a specific directory, especially in multiplayer. As it is, he must copy the savegame from my computer whenever we want to load the game.

Randy just fixed this:

October 28, 2003
- Fixed: Saving in multiplayer games would try to save to the same full path
on all machines, even if the different machines had ZDoom installed in
different directories. The only one who was guaranteed to be able to save
because of this was the person who used the save command.

Yeah, works fine in the new 52. Was busted in 51; caused me a bit of confusion when trying to resume coop games.
