Setting up COOP game

Can someone help me with a step by step? I want to play brutal doom with a friend. I have tried gzdoom and zandornum. I make a folder and put the original WADs and GZdoom files in. I cant add anything in cmd promopts

Can anyone help? All the help videos I have looked up don't seem to work. How can I get generals to play online but can't get this 30 year old game to play?

Have you figured it out my friend? it is a bit confusing when you first start things off. I'd be happy to help if no one has helped you yet.
