I believe that BFG Edition background was used in the Xbox 360 port as an intermission pic for No Rest. Give me a minute, I'll turn on my battered old 360 and capture card and check...

Okay, yeah, it was used instead of the TITLEPIC too.

Oh, I see the confusion now. No Rest was released alongside the Xbox 360 version. Ye Olde Xbox Port included with Doom 3 didn't have any new content outside of the 1994 WAD easter-egg levels.

Plutonia Titlepic
TNT Interpic (I had to remove a 1 pixel black border around the original 4:3 image in order to make it widescreen compatible)
TNT Bossback

Thanks for easing my burden, Scuba! Adding these into the repository and big fat credits to you as well.

I forgot to add that what I try to do differently in my pack (as opposed to the aforementioned "someone else already did this and I'm aware" pack) is that I try my best to NOT touch the 4:3 portion of the original image. They have to look like the extensions are cleanly built only into the pillarboxes, and the extensions must blend as seamlessly as possible.

(I know I didn't achieve it 100% perfect yet but these will be constantly updated until I am ultra satisfied yet).

I haven't checked whether yours adhere to this or not but it's not a big problem at all for me to fix them later. You have already provided the hard work - the extensions - it's just a matter of pixel pushing/cleanup if I need to adjust these. :)

Again, many thanks.

They're really close... but in order to blend the edges into the extended space, a few liberties were taken. For the most part, the bulk of the 4:3 central image is entirely intact.

Edit: I uploaded new files in all previous posts so they no longer alter the core 3:4 central image, but add additional artwork for widescreen... all of them that is, except Plutonia. Holy shit, I have no idea how to keep the central image unchanged without modifying the sides to fit the limited resources available to extend the image. I cleaned up the Plutonia sky so the 4:3 image isn't affected, but the rocks are still blended at the edges and slightly different.

I was looking back at the HD widescreen titlepics I worked on and thought this was a better fix for the left side of the screen... it makes the blue blob into something more definite.

Sigil is tricky... the image has a border so you can't expand it naturally... a bit of splicing and color correction seems to give it an added border.

...so how do Ep3 style ending scenes work in a widescreen setting? Will the two split gfx BOTH need to be widescreen, or half on one side, half on the other?
