Is someone able to convert the old original PCSpeaker sounds to something that works with sourceports? That would make things perfect if you use ChibiDoom, LowRes Doom and 8bit music :)

I was planning to do something like this myself, good to know that someone else has already started it. I'd rather go for a mor uniform pixel size, though.

Finally completed the Cyberdemon. He looks like a cuddly teddybear and I just had to give him a nose ring :mrgreen:

And the last monster (if you don't count hanging Commander Keen who is already somewhat chibi-ish!), the Spider Mastermind! Behold as he/she/it grins devilishly and raises his/her/it's tiny army into the air in anticipation of another plan executed flawlessly! Accurate super chaigun fire optional.

The next tasks are:
1. Voxelizing the remaining decorations, it's quite a lot.
2. Blood splatters on the wall. I think GZDoom only allows for red blood decals so I have to think of something. The 8bit blood mod has different colors but it's too much blood for my tastes :3:

Recommended with Low-Res Doom!

Changelog, from the top of my head:
  • All enemies & items included
  • Added hand&arm to the normal shotgun
  • Added Voxel Chibi options submenu in the game options screen, allowing for various settings.
  • Added the option to show the Cyberdemon with or without nosering (default is with nosering)
  • Enemies explode into a shower of colorful voxels when they die! This is an awesome effect and so far I have not experienced any performance problems. I wouldn't recommend it with the slaughter maps, though. The voxels have a limited lifespan which can be changed in the options menu, along with the option to turn it off altogether so enemies only explode on their XDeath state (killed by rockets and similar).
  • Correct blood colors for Barons, Knights and Cacodemons
  • All GZDoom decals have been made into low-resolution versions, including blood splatters on walls.
  • Baron of Hell's Death state has the A_BossDeath action which was missing
  • Barrels have better animations now.
  • Doomguy's face has been replaced with a proper version.

I can't seem to replicate it and none of the sprites looks like this. Perhaps it's got something to do with GZDoom's decal settings?

Voxel death very cute. Maybe make "brutal death" with big voxels (2:1) an option?
