COLOURED SABRECLAW PLAYERS & BOTS! (TBD)
Learn how simple it can be to play deathmatches versus coloured
symbiont like creatures (e.g. Marvels Venom) via LegacyDoom!
First we need to extract all SabreClaw animation sprites sprites
from Heretic and compare them with original Doom/D2s Marine
equivalents what can easily be done with the SLADE tool.
Then just rename these in order to put them in a new WAD.
While this its important to use sabreclaws original sprite
offsets what is also supported in SLADE.
Now ist getting a little more difficult since the new
players shall support LegacyDooms coloured bots!
Therefore all sabreclaw sprites must be recoloured to
the estimated green colour tones from the Marine players.
Abit work but can be done with e.g. GIMP before
converting them to Dooms palette again in SLADE.
Maybe its better to again check all offsets after
importing these new renamed sprites somehow.
Once done the result can already be tested quick and
easily - of course provided you set up Legacy Doom before.
By the way - Legacy Doom (1.41) even has integrated
splitscreen multiplayer mode only abit sad that it doesnt
support Hexen and only up to one custom WAD at this time.
So theres no need to buy and try the SandBoxy virtual
desktop cloning software and qickly easy gaming!
SLADE even allows to modify your Doom (or FreeDoom)
IWADs somehow but it couldnt manage it somehow -
maybe a way to integrate the sabreclaws and being
able to add DM map wads like DM TeraPack 1024 Maps.

Do you have anything to show that you've made any progress on this.. uhm. Graphic Mod? If not, then we have a thread that you should read.

Really? As far as I can tell, this mod is nothing but a sprite sheet, and one that you didn't make, at that. I don't even understand what the "project" is - is it a player skin? Why did you start a projects thread if your only content isn't yours, and isn't even implemented yet?Kaal979 wrote:More patience please!

Can we see some actual progress of this mod?
Just using someone elses sprite sheet doesn't antequate an original and progressing mod.

So do you maybe really know a better and easier way to have pawn like deathmatch bots instead of the boring and less sense making marines to fight each others without the need to configure and test difficult bot configs after studying (and testing ..) commandline started sessions than a simple player replacement for the easy startable DoomLegacy bots? Hooray!!! We await the release of our ZDOOM ZOURNAMENT - Yipeeeh ... ... .. .

Well - what can i say?
The sheet is of course only an example so far
but since its still a very promising and doable project
some appropriate content release should
not take too long - have thrust!

A release of WHAT content? What even is this? I can't figure out what your project actually is, aside from it being Sabreclaw sprites (which are trivial to obtain/import into any WAD file).Kaal979 wrote:Well - what can i say?

Aeeh - admitted ZDoom actually wouldnt have much benefit of this.
Maybe i better post the stuffs on some Legacy Doom forums then.
Anyways - thanks for reading and: keep up the good work!

If you can't explain to me what your project is, I see no point leaving it open.Kaal979 wrote:Aeeh - admitted ZDoom actually wouldnt have much benefit of this.
