Re: [ECWolf] CeeJay's hi-res/enhancement patch (version 4)
The only thing that sorta bugs me about this pack is some of the sounds clash because of originating from different platforms and varying qualities (IE SNES sounds with MAC sounds), so maybe have an alternate sound pack that has only sounds exclusive to MAC systems and etcetera but this isn't exactly necessary.
Also, the pushing walls sound for BJ has no Hi-Quality replacement I think.

Re: [ECWolf] CeeJay's hi-res/enhancement patch (version 4)
I will create a new thread because some of the stuff I may be working with may not be suitable for this pack.
Re: [ECWolf] CeeJay's hi-res/enhancement patch (version 4)
The problem is that each port had a very limited amount of sound effects. The Mac port had the same generic voice set for each and every enemy and only a handful for bosses. So I basically have to use 'em all to fill it out.Flynn Taggart wrote:The only thing that sorta bugs me about this pack is some of the sounds clash because of originating from different platforms and varying qualities (IE SNES sounds with MAC sounds), so maybe have an alternate sound pack that has only sounds exclusive to MAC systems and etcetera but this isn't exactly necessary.
The original digitized sound effects of Wolfenstein 3D were 55kbps at 6hz, anything above that is technically HQ.Flynn Taggart wrote:Also, the pushing walls sound for BJ has no Hi-Quality replacement I think.

Re: [ECWolf] CeeJay's hi-res/enhancement patch (version 4)
You should at least replace the SS sound with something else, Nazis shouldn't be speaking English.
Re: [ECWolf] CeeJay's hi-res/enhancement patch (version 4)
I do agree to some extent. But, it's an official sfx and the game does have a silly cartoonish vibe to it, so I don't really mind it. The SS are freaking bright blue for god sake. If you want a realistic WWII shooter, go play Wolfenstein The New Order
Besides, you can always edit it to your liking, just open the SNDINFO lump and remove/replace that particular sound effect.

Re: [ECWolf] CeeJay's hi-res/enhancement patch (version 4)
Double post, sorry.
Next release will feature a ton of new and improved wall textures. They have also been changed to their original ECWolf names, no more WALL####. Makes things a lot easier and probably increases compatibility.
However, I am currently unable to start ECWolf (damn Vista) so it might get released blindly. Stay tuned.

Nice! Like the subtle camera bobbing effect you put in there too.

I've found a sprite set of BJ walking sprites, created by a user called Flynn Taggart: http://i.imgur.com/D92Od6V.png
Thought it might be of use to your project.

Yeah... I know all about them. Sadly they are unfinished.
