AC/DC MIDI replacer for Doom

Right, some of you may have seen my Pantera MIDI replacer for both Doom and Doom 2.

I decided to create this within about an hour, and completed it for Doom (and Doom 2 the next day). And honestly? I'm not that much of an AC/DC knowerboy myself. But I do love them, and I do love rock 'n' roll, and heavy metal, if you need any separation from the two. So, hopefully, someone here will have appreciation for this compilation. Credit goes to this page for all the data, and AC/DC for holding a legendary testament to rock music.

1995-6 called. They want their midis back.

Crap, I never noticed that part of Doomworld.

I should go there more often.

Yeah, this isn't really anything new. People have been making music replacers like this one for years but mostly keep it to themselves. It could also be stealing.

Doubt it, since credit was given.

I just took some peeks at that page, it doesn't seem much of AC/DC is there.

Well, think about it this way. It's like sticking Doom2.wad in a wad and saying it's not stealing or something to that effect.

Giving credit doesn't give you the right to use the music. If AC/DC's lawyers were to ever find this and decide it's infringing on the band's music, guess who they're sending the Cease and Desist letter to?

Me, and then I'd request the ZDoom mods to take this down. Simple isn't it?

Besides, if this wasn't legal, the site which I got both Pantera and AC/DC midis from would most likely not be up with all that content. And there are more midi sources than just that. They're almost like covers, which are perfectly common and legal - fanmade recreations of the songs. And I'm just compiling them for use in this flexible game.

If anything, the source site would have the only say, and they don't seem to be very descriptive in distribution. Apparently, it's just there, waiting to be taken. And I've done it. I don't see much of a problem from here.

I'm gonna be completely honest here - I'm pretty sure this is an absolute non-issue in every single sense of the word.

Midis of popular songs and entire bands have been floating on the net for eons without as much as a peep - copyrighted MP3 files are one thing, but I highly doubt anybody is going to pull out their legal team for sound-card reliant, non-vocal, completely-digital emulations of popular songs. Even in today's age, it's highly implausible.

MIDIs are nothing but instructions of which to play a song. Digital audio (eg MP3) are full instructions on how it sounds, every facet of 'real' sound, etc.
I don't see an issue here.
also uh people have been using midi ringtones since the 90s guys

Since some people think I've taken this too far. Really, I'd like to see undead003 do something a bit more creative than take midis and place them in a wad and claim it as a project. In truth, it's great for your own amusement, but no one else would like it (save for one or two people, but that's about it). Try your hand at creating a mod or some sprites. That's bound to produce some positive feedback. No offense meant with my previous post!

Now cranking down from 11 to 4.

Wow, I legitimately thought this was an MP3 thread earlier. How'd I fuck that one up?

Wrong time of day, your eyes are blurry. Your mind is else where - as mine was. Let it go.

Actually kinda fun to play with. I wouldn't autoload it, but still pretty cool. Though I would have liked Thunderstruck in an earlier level.
