In case you're wondering, it's a sort of "experiment" in which the background music for Doom/Doom II is replaced (almost) completely with ambiance which will make the game more atmospheric and sinister to further convey that sense of loneliness in that "you vs. them" theme, as well as emulate what kind of level you're in (ex, computer drones and noises in E1M7), unless you're ending or starting an episode, in which a more musical track will play. Most of the ambiance is taken from the Doom 3 Alpha.
However, if you're someone that's looking for fast-paced metal or the like, this probably won't satisfy you. If you're someone who's wanting to make the game more atmospheric without using PSX music, this should be right up your alley.
Can I use this with other wads?
Sure, just as long as the wad in question doesn't contain custom music. Depending on which wad (or mod) you play, your experience may vary.
Can I use part/all of it for something I'm working on?
Of course, it's free to use!

I'm currently looking for a free program that converts .wavs to .ogg files, so the next version should be all .ogg files.
I find WinFF more convenient for simple conversions than Audacity.

Hmm, I know of a certain project that's looking for ambient music.

i just use foobar for converting audio files nowadays. it's pretty handy and can mass-export files to ogg format. i could do that right now if you'd like.

Man... You won't believe this.
Some time ago I have found a mod called "QuakeStyleZX". It is an improved version of QuakeStyle mod.
This mod has become my number 1 favourite of all time, but after playing it for a while I thought original music does not fit it.
So I started my personal version ("QuakeStyleZX+") to improve QuakeStyleZX.
And by improving I meant not only adding some graphics, but also changing the music to Quake's.
And now I am downloading an interesting project off ZDoom forum just to get confused and make sure I am booting the right archive a few times.
Your project itself looks really good to me, mostly because I am long-time frustrated by the fact most of the Doom players do not see any sinister or creepy atmosphere in Doom and are taking it like a festival of gory massacre.
At last! You are the first person in few years who tries to make Doom atmospheric.
However Quake music does not go well. I think it is because it belongs to Quake and sounds weird in another game.

Looks like I definitely goofed with that one. Updated the download with a fixed version.

Updated the OP with a poll, as a title for this mini-mod would be nice.

Hellbiance.
Can't really think of any other ideas at this time.
This is really good stuff, BTW. I especially like MAP29's music.

I don't like any of the suggested titles. Something more indicative of what it actually is, like Dark Ambiance or somesuch, I suck at titles.
