It does seem to be an issue with FluidSynth itself (I was just able to reproduce it) - as a MIDI output device it seems a bit less reliable than Timidity++, which has never bugged out on me. Can I suggest that you try using Timidity++ instead, for when you want to hear the MIDIs in soundfonts?

Gave this a quick spin, it seems that the playlist will be lost if the user dies and respawns with a clean pistol start (because I totally disabled autosaves).

Save more often, then. :P

(In all seriousness, I'm not sure if there's anything I can do about that. I don't think the playlist can be preserved, even though it's stored in a global array which is loaded at the start of each map with LOADACS.)

Re: [Fun] Jimmy's Jukebox -- v9 is READY! :D

Post by Jimmy »

After entirely too long... here it is.

Jimmy's Jukebox v9! [5.3MB]

Now, I believe Worst is going to make further changes to this, so expect v9.5 (as it will be known) to come whenever it's ready. :)

Main changes:
  • Above all (as mentioned before), the tracks are now all defined in the LANGUAGE lump.
  • Several new Jimmy-MIDIs (Jimmidis?). 180 in total, now. :) (FINALLY, a nice round number.)
  • Addition of the unfinished Doom tracks by Bobby Prince. This and the new MIDIs of mine bring the total track count up to 843. (Not so round, that.)
  • New prev/next collection function for scrolling through the in-game playlist.
  • New help button.
  • New "playlist editor" in the Jukebox map.
  • Map has been relocated from MAP00 slot to JUKEBOX.
  • Several more optimizations.
Many of these changes mean that this should be a little bit easier to autoload now.

Let me know if you guys like the new changes. :D Still working on the User Jukebox for this version. ;)

Is there a "skip to next album" hotkey?

  • New prev/next collection function for scrolling through the in-game playlist.
Ee-yup. :P

EDIT: Admittedly it doesn't have much use when scrolling through large collections like mine or Forty-Two's, but it's there. At least you can now quickly scroll to either end of each collection instantly. :P

Alright, so I'll see how easy it is to transfer all the additional stuff I've added to my copy of v8.

For the unreleased songs, you really should just leave out the really short tracks and the some of the ones Romero complained about. They don't really fit in with the rest.

Dagnabbit. I thought that that version of Opening to Hell was exactly the same as the final version. Same with a few other of the unreleased tracks that seemed identical to their final versions. Whoopsie-doodle.

I personally have no qualms with removing some of the shorter tracks. Any immediate objections to this?

Oh, and also, this should've been uploaded a lot sooner.

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE! Hopefully.

I was gonna put in a request for a new, expanded jukebox but it turns out that I've been using v7. v8? v9? WHAT?!
Oh well. This thing still growing? Too much of a lazy bum to craft together my own user list.
