Disc Weapon Preview:
Instead of just magically floating in the air I made it as a wrist launcher.
I will probably modify wrist launcher mesh and try to make it more Chasm-friendly. This is just a concept.

Seriously fella that looks amazing. Actually prefer this over the original. Although from looking at the hand model, looks quite high poly compared to the models.

I have played a lot of custom maps with this mod, and one thing that could make it better is a weapon with a scope. I know the original Chasm didn't have a sniper-weapon, because most of the fights were close encounters with monsters, so we didn't really need a "zoom-function" in those maps... but a lot of the new custom maps from the Doom community are huge, and sometimes i have to keep shooting enemies far away (and missing all the shots) so, a weapon with a scope/zoom function would be nice for these situations. Since the Plasma-gun wasn't in the original Chasm, i would rather have a sniper-weapon in its place (it could be something like a railgun with a scope, or a old snipergun like those in DDay Quake2 mod). It would be perfect!

@Tribal, I can create something "Chasm Friendly" and set it as optional addon
I will try to create some kind of ranged weapon model this weekend.

Railgun Test:
Textures as close as possible to chasm weapons (I will tweak them more later, I'm not satisfied with the front part of the weapon atm...)
Idea of this weapon is to get a 3 beam lock on the target and then the railgun pulse will fire projectile from the middle one
You will have to manually aim and fire of course.
