Actually... That works. That works real well, I support that one.

Not directly Brutal Doom Related, but has some Brutal Doom type features, it works.

is this mod has any RPG features into it? such as taking quests from NPCs or leveling up? if not, without RPG, please.

It has a levelup system, but no NPC related features. I'll assume that's enough to fancy the title of RPG.

Also, the NPC thing you mentioned reminded me of something. Anybody remember this video I posted?

This is from an open world free roaming style hexen mod that me and a friend of mine are working on. It hasn't gotten much progress in a while, but we aren't ever going to abandon it. I'm going to rewrite the original rpg system in this to use the same one as Brutal Hexen RPG. Would anybody be interested in collaborating with us in such a project? I'll provide more info and maybe screenshots later today.

I have seen your "Heretic RPG Mod (WIP) Showcase Part 3", im really happy you havent added the stuff of some others games... The crossbow of strife and that sword is a reskin of shadow warrior right?

Don''t hesitate to keep authentic your mods with your own ideas (textures, skins, attacks), you can have an inspiration from other games but don't copy them in some ways.
For me, the actual Brutal Heretic RPG (v1) has his own identity and we like it for that!

If you add random stuff, people could just say "oh, it's just an other mod of a retro fps", because usually,a lot of basic mods use a lot of random, copied, or no coherent stuff.....
=> It was about the Showcase part 3.

For your project, you can do it if you mix it well but not too much, I suppose?.... Good luck with it! :)

No I don't mind at all. If you don't see the resources listed in the credits the on the OP, contact me and I'll try to gain accurate credits for you to use too.

Also, for people concerned about the long delay, i've just been busy with stuff lately like school, other hexen/doom projects, and non-school/doom related things too. I'm never going to abandon this project! I also might have something pretty sweet to give out within about a week, but remember I'm not making any promises.

Cool! Actually, I don't think that may be necessary now... what I wanted to do was apply some of those graphics to my personal edited version of Guncaster (which isn't to be released). It already has the brutal gore because of the new update, but it'd be just lovely to have those effects. :D

yeah take your time, no need to rush things.

The mods are very cool yet ^^ And good luck with school and your others projects! I have continued brutal heretic rpg, tome of power and crossbow is so fun xD .... I used it a lot in the beginning of e4m9, ASSAAAAULT TIME! :D
(and with the graveyard theme, it was very epic ^^)

EDIT: About the "Timebomb" of Corvus in Brutal Heretic, i noticed it's not so effective, especially when you have the firemace (who has the same physic type), what about make a static timebomb (like the original), with an other effect? Like multi-explosion or others? Because it looks so much like the grenade of Hexen fighter, just my feeling, but it's still pretty effective, especially if you dont have the firemace. :)

I have replayed Brutal Heretic in DM with some bots, it's really awesome and very fast paced !!! Basically , Heretic's projectiles were a bit slow for a dm with players but with Brutal Heretic, it makes to totaly awesome.
Just 2 "bugs", players can't take the crystal vial (or activate Quartz Flask) and it seems, the stick doesnt do damage....
If not, it's really good for dm ! I will host it at the end of the month in a festival ;)

The mace and crossbow are badass...but they don't suit the fighter. They'd fit the cleric much better.

Cool mod. I just miss the fatalities. For some use, the bash button(heath regeneration) can be replaced with fatality(regen heath, but make you vulnerable, only do it in the last foe).

About weapons: good but some are too equal(the 2 swords + shield and mace + shield)

The knight class is all about melle and brute force; please add 2x short swords or axes or a 2 handed weapon(slow and insane power). For long tange knights can use spear(sparta) or poison arrows(magic only in melle).

The cleric can has some necromancer skills(summon monsters).

A assassin class for future version seem cool(backstab do more damage, move fast, stun foes to do fast kill, dash can pass foes..)

Some ideas i take from "Wayward Souls", a cool rpg in 2d, can give to you nice ideas :).

I was thinking the same.... Crossbow should be really more different than the heretic one too but at least, its less fast and seem focused on the power.
