Half-Life

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

Nice.

The gun looks a little out of place though.

I would lower the contrast for the tau cannon a bit.

Would it be possible for you to port the HL weapons from Black Mesa Source as a version 2.0 instead? Those have more details and better animations. You can keep the old school sounds for nostalgia but I thought it would play fantastic in Doom with better looking weapons. Or you can demake it so it looks like hand drawn 16-bit sprites.

He's actually using the models from HL1, albeit in a format that's GZDoom-compatible. People did backport the mod version of Black Mesa's weapons to HL1, but I imagine it's more difficult than it sounds; plausible but maybe not worth the effort.

"Out of place" as in it doesn't align with the crosshair.

Meh, because animation was playing in that moment.

Now that i found interesting.

Converting those to vertex anims must be a pain in the ass but, damn, the guy is doing a nice work.

Having done some H-L mods myself (including one on which I am currently working), I am very impressed by this WIP. Keep up the good work, and it will be terrific to see all the weapons modeled.

Already on it. At this point Mr. Pencil has not given explicit permissions to use his work in other mods, but I assume it will happen. When that happens, I would like to request Mr. Pencil to release his ACS code in an uncompiled format. At present, only the compiled code is included in the main wad of the pk3.

You and me, both. Paranoiac features all the weapons of Paranoid [crowbar, Glock, 357 Magnum, shotgun, assault rifle, and RPG launcher], and the first five of these have already been modeled by Mr. Pencil. Paranoiac has the crossbow, and is incorporating the Hive Hand and the Gauss Gun, all of which Mr. Pencil has indicated he is developing. Therefore, you can see that I too am excited about his next update.

I don't think so, because mod is not even finished, and... I don't like when someone's using my resources.

why not? besides, being able to read the code might be helpful without necesarily copying it.
