I've wanted to do a boss battle similar to this, but with a dragon, and making it the central part of a HUB that you had to beat in order to lug back enough ammo to actually kill it.

Max3rick: Hit it like 3 time? Care to explain? Killing him in 3 hits of ANY vanilla weapon isn't possible. (and even with customs, only if your weapon is capable of 10000 damage a shot.)

Ah yes. You're dodging skills are going to need to up to the challenge. Especially since he spits out the monsters.
Speaking of him, another suggestion:
I'd make it so he occasionally shoots out the spawn shooter cubes as part of his active state, rather than as part of his attack states. As is, if you take cover where he can't see you, you can stall the fight, since he doesn't summon anything, and doesn't shoot anything (since monsters need line of sight to attack), and take the fight a lot more slowly than I believe should be possible. Then again, this wouldn't be as much of a problem if the Icon could actually *move*.

Maybe since he isn't able to move, you could change his appearance around to make it appear like he is Chained to the wall. The reason he could be bound is that he is so terrifying and powerful that the other Demons of Hell fear him and Chained him against that wall.

The music that plays during the fight I think fits perfectly for this Boss.

Wow, this is soooo cool!

I especially loved the death animation with nuke explosion in it!

By the way, how do you display health of the beast?

It seems the beast is summonable, just type "summon Iconofsin" at console menu.

it would be fun to summon it as friend... only if the beast is smaller :P

Also, I wanna point out a glitch at the ending scene.

It happens after the narration with nuclear explosion in it. The picture of Doomguy wearing his armour shows up, but there's a little square appearing at the bottom left corner.
It's like the entire screen shrunk to that square. The problem is the rest part of the screen doesn't update.

I could fix it by typing in the console to reload maps (the console was displayed in that little square, making it impossible to read), but counldn't figure out what's causing it.

It's not entirely impossible, think about it, if a large group of Arch-viles can move a Cyberdemon around a map if they all cast their flame spell at once, then Imagine what thousands of them in Hell could do if they all cast the spell at the same time. Plus you would have all the other demons in Hell working together. If that still doesn't sound good enough then why not just say Satan Chained him there?

The way the map is now doesn't seem like it would give this boss enough room to move around anyways, and if the level gets to big you could just Circle Strafe around the boss until it dies.
