Brutal HeXen - BETA RELEASED

"The Immortal" might be a source of inspiration for mage-related fatalities:

It would be pretty cool if there was some sort of really difficult move that would let you climb on and ride a Chaos Serpent, a la the Serpent Riders.

For those who may say "yeah, well that mage guy used a dagger to cut people up and stuff", keep in mind that Daedolon, too, has a dagger. It's right there on his belt, he just never uses it. Don't believe me? Go take a look at his sprites, I'll wait.

...

See? There it is. He could easily do something neat with it, like use it with telekinesis to achieve similar results to Baratus but with a lot more finesse. And if anything, Daedolon is CERTAINLY about finesse. You can't play him effectively without it.

I'm not sure why I found out about this mod so late, but it looks like it will be my second favorite, right after Brutal Doom itself! :D
Also, Heretic support sounds like a brilliant idea.

I really wonder why many people are more concerned over the fatalities than making the mod play smoothly to begin with. I find that fatalities would just get in the way.

Because concerns about getting the mod to play smoothly - or at least one particular concern, namely the input - took up like the last 12 pages before the fatality discussion.

We need a break! :P

Ditto, the only thing that's interesting about this for me is that I actually had fun playing Hexen with my slightly edited fighter. Fatalities either get in the way or are outright death hazards.

Yeah, I hate it when I do a Fatality and another Ettin starts beating the living crap out of me.

You guys seem to forget that you call them fatalities because like the one other game that calls them that, Mortal Kombat, they're supposed to be the spectacularly gory cherry on the top of a sundae made from the internal organs of your enemies. In other words, you do it on the last person in the group so you don't end up being raped by his buddies. Is that REALLY so hard to understand?

Not when it's entirely possible to trigger a fatality by accident.

Shield bash seems to love the enemies who are asking to be fatalitied (if that's a word) in a crowd :)
Also in Brutal Doom, you could switch to "SMASH" mode on the fly and not trigger fatalities.
