ZDoom Portal Gun / ZPortal - (old topic)

Obviously inspired by Valve's portal demo, here's the portal gun for ZDoom! I'm sure this could be done better but here's my shot at it.

Will NOT work in multiplayer.

Fire1 shoots a red portal.
Fire2 shoots a blue portal.

You can teleport through either portal to reach new areas.

A test map is included. See if you can beat it without cheating :P

This is pretty cool. Also very entertaining, I could have fun doing this for hours!

I would love to look at this, except I'm still enforcing a personal information blackout for Half-Life related stuff. As such, I haven't seen the Portal demo, so I don't want to see this just yet. I'll see Portal when I get to actually playing it.

That was awesome.
Now, let's imagine a jumping map combined with a portal puzzle map.

Wow... this is awesome.

I would love to see an entire mod based off of it.

Awesome.

I think you've made the projectile too large though.

It's the same size as the player, cause it won't teleport you if the projectile is too close to the ceiling/floor/wall or whatever.

I've uploaded it to idgames so look out for it there.

That explains it.
Surely you can make the projectile smaller then once it has landed make it player sized?

It would still spawn inside walls and crap. Or not spawn at all. That's just the way ZDoom works with this kinda stuff :(

Let's never even think about that actually. :|||||||
