Sometimes I feel like the weapons in Vanilla Doom aren't good enough for a difficulty-based WAD like Plutonia (or even a harder WAD if you are tough-as-nails); you need a set of tools that can get the job done efficiently.
A faster machine gun. A pistol with a bit more kick to it. Maybe you want an energy-based weapon that can shoot through walls? How about a Voodoo Doll?

This weapon pack was created specifically for a mapset that I wanted to make, but since I haven't started on the maps at all yet and wanted a unique set of weapons for it (and now that the weapons are done), I decided I would just release the weapons for that mapset separately rather than waiting for the maps to be completed, so that people are able to experience these weapons themselves!

A lot of the weapons take their inspiration from the early 20th century (and also Blood, my favorite Build Engine game). I hope someone enjoys these, because I had a lot of fun putting it all together!

I recommend that you play with this weapon set using the latest versions of GZDoom, this mod does not work with ZDoom (or Zandronum) due to new DECORATE functions that are not present in ZDoom.

I like this mod although the voodoo doll is op af since it basically destroys everything with the cost of only 10 energy,but besides that 9/10. =:)

I kind of designed the weapons around my wip mapset rather than for vanilla doom which can make it a little too easy lol thanks for the feedback tho, i recommend trying it on Plutonia or a custom hard map set like BTSX

(and I might rebalance it for Vanilla Doom)

I'm not going to provide credits in the main post of the thread as it is redundant. There is a CREDITS.txt in the .pk3 itself for people who wish to know the sources provided, and I have been thorough in making sure that each asset I have used is properly credited, as well as provided the CREDITS.txt file in the proper format. All bases have been covered in this regard, and will continue to be covered as I continue to add content and am provided with help when requested from friends or peers.

UPDATE!
  • Dirty Harry .44 Magnum sound added for the revolver
  • Added new sounds for the Tesla Gun.
  • New pickup sprite for the revolver (War Trophies support, essentially.)
  • New pickup sprite for rocket ammo (Courtesy of LossForWords, Yholl, and Sgt. Shivers!)
  • Touched up the Single Barrel Shotgun sprite
  • Improved the altfire for the Revolver
  • Added an ammo/individual fire system to the Double Barreled Shotgun
  • Voodoo Doll mechanics and animations changed; no longer hitscans and behaves more like the BFG now.
  • Voodoo Doll ammo cost increased to 25 (up from 10)
  • Improved Axe swing speed, nerfed Base Axe damage, and buffed Axe Charge damage.
  • New Status Bar
  • Lite Freedoom Support
  • Optional Caleb skin in Player Setup
