Ah, this is what I was trying to accomplish when replacing all the textures in the DOOM2 iwad. Now it's just a matter of figuring out what textures need to replace whatFrozsoul wrote:The easiest way I can think of is to create a TEXTURES add-on that remaps Doom 2's vanilla textures with Doom 64 textures instead:

This would have the added benefit of also working with non-Oblige maps.
The more time-consuming and difficult method would be to create a new textures add-on within Oblige. For example, ObAddon currently has an "Epic Textures Pack Mod" add-on that is available that allows custom textures from a pack to be used. The difficulty is that you have to specify how each texture will be used for different parts of the map generated, but the advantage is that it allows a lot more control over how the textures are used.

There's actually a Doom 64 texture pack for Doom 1 and 2 already, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw8wPUGHTKQ

Dear God man, you have saved my sanity. I've spent hours trying to figure out how to make this work and that texture pack was all I needed! You're a livesaver. I might make a video on how to set all this up from using obaddon, adding the brutal DOOM 64 addon and setting the texture pack so no one has to go through what I did (Though there probably aren't many other people who are such DOOM 64 fanatics that they'd want to go through all this to effectively have infinite DOOM 64 maps )blealolealoleal wrote:There's actually a Doom 64 texture pack for Doom 1 and 2 already, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw8wPUGHTKQ
