What if there were Archvile variants that reflected a bit of what they replaced? Fat, slow Archviles.... Flying Archviles. Flying Archviles that shoot tiny Archviles at you. My god.

Sure, and with some interesting weapon pack it just doesn't feel a threat at all. Besides, most of attacks you can either dodge or kill them before they even do damage.

It's entirely possible this mod was designed around using the vanilla weapons.

I'm 90% sure that this mod is a joke\shitpost, but a funny one. The 10%, I assume the mod is meant to be incredible hard and "annoying", so removing the primary thing that makes archviles anywhere threating basically makes the mod a walking in the park. A few chaingun shots across any map defeats the only type of victim the mod offers.

I loaded up MAP11: Hunted, and all I got were Archviles.

Then I loaded up MAP11: Arch-Violence... and again, all I got were Archviles.

Your mod didn't replace jack. I call bullshit.

What would be fairer, though, is to have the chaingunner die, but then he drops another chaingunner instead of a chaingun. In essence, you kill him, you spawn another bad guy to kill.

Regardless, so long as you can kill an Arch-Vile with one hit from a Pistol, the game might not actually be that hard. On the surface, things can get out of hand, but all it takes is some foresight and some dumb luck to solve what must be a logic puzzle that anybody can beat. Then again, you can always make a mad dash for the exit!

It is 100% a shitpost mod, i only introduced changes so there was some variety. I made this in less than 5 minutes with code from experiments with SLADE. There is no deeper meaning to this than to make a mod where everything's an archvile and they can resurrect each other.
