Yeah! I was having similar ideas, but you narrowed it down to the point. That would be awesome! :mrgreen:

I will need coding help for this though - to big a feat for me alone to achieve I'm afraid.
Anyways, here's alpha 10 including the lobby demo map shown in the last video. Just punch "map demo" into the console ;)

Bunch of edits, sprites, tweaks but nothing too groundbreaking in this update. Let's see what the weekend brings :)

why is the katana's pickup sprite a the chainsaw?

Because I'm not done yet replacing everything that needs replacing :D I'm pretty sure I don't have a sprite for the Railgun/BFG either yet. But that's what the weekend spare time is for ;)

man, i don't remember those scenes from the matrix trilogy where Roy Heart takes out every demon in hell...

First update for this weekend:

I seperated the demo map, so it's an extra pk3 to load. I did this because I added a basic custom monster: The Agent (sprites originally by HorrorMovieGuy). Hint: You need to be "faster" then an Agent to defeat him ;)

I'd be happy about some frame rate reports, since the map features a few reflective floors and irresponsible use of portals :P Maybe I have to tone this down... however, it helps to turn ambient occlusion off.

PS: Sorry to anyone interested in this for having you download new incremental versions so often, but I use this thread as kind of a repository :D

* Melee combat and katana changed quite a bit. Both feature a dash now which flows into a bullettime special, when alt-fire is held.
* I added Blue Shadows flak cannon as a preliminary alt-fire for the grenade launcher. Don't know what to do with that yet, but it needed something for crowd control...

I don't mean to necrobump, but I keep getting a "giveinventory: unknownitem Sw1gston" error message during the game when I use the alt-fire for the katana.

this has to be one of the most fresh looking gameplay mods to come out this year, very excited to try this out!

Absolutely golden. I actually wondered if someone would make doom mod out of Super Spy one day and it really happened! The weapons are satisfying to use and that matrix map is really fun to play as well. Neat work!

But it's weird that i have to melee attack all the time to decrease the time-stopping cooltime. Just my thought but why not make it affected when you're idle? Also i think replacing some enemies with goons from the original game won't be so bad, actually.

While convincing, this mod could definitely push the "Max Payne" and "Matrix" vibes much farther, with snappier and more impactful gun feedback and perhaps even different kinds of rolling.

This came out in 2017 and there hasn't been an update or post by the author (about this) since then either. This thread was necrobumped but the responses make me feel like most everyone commenting doesn't realize it.
